Meta announced new Meta Ray-Ban Display features at Connect 2026 on September 23, combining hands-free navigation, a voice-driven video-call likeness and more on-glasses utilities with online ordering and an expansion into five additional markets. Cycling directions and real-time public-transit departures are due later in September for users in the United States and Canada. The initial boundary is narrow: early access starts on WhatsApp in the United States later this fall. Meta's announcement does not document independent likeness-quality tests, failure rates or the detailed data-handling controls for the capture and generated face. Those gaps are important because a convincing synthetic likeness and mirrored personal information create different review needs from ordinary audio-only glasses.

More utilities arrive with a wider market rollout

Meta is also introducing Explore as an on-glasses and Meta AI app surface for compatible experiences. Calendar controls can show attendees, accept or decline invitations and join meetings, initially in English in the United States. Mirrored phone notifications are listed as coming soon, with user controls for disabling individual notifications.

The company opened online ordering in the United States and began sales in Canada and the United Kingdom. Pre-orders are starting progressively in France, Italy and Germany, with online and retail availability scheduled for October 13 in those three markets. That distribution expansion is available sooner than several of the software additions, so buyers should separate what ships now from features described as later this month, coming soon or early access.
